    Hello! My name is Melena Scott and I am a first-year MFA student in Theatre Design with a concentration in Scenic Design at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Before beginning graduate school, I attended Rider University where I competed my BA in Theatre Design & Technology in 2026.

   During my undergraduate program I had the opportunity to design multiple productions and work as a Scenic Artist in the production shop for over 3 years. I have also had the opportunity to work professionally as an Overhire Scenic Artist at Gulfshore Playhouse and as a Scenic Artist at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, where I further developed my artistic skills while contributing to a variety of productions.

   I enjoy creating expressionistic designs and artwork that spark conversations within communities and audiences. Being apart of a collaborative creative environment is where I thrive.
